Some Tottenham fans on social media have been reacting to Walter Sabatini’s comments on potentially signing Erik Lamela for Bologna this summer.
The Bologna Sporting Director hasn’t been shy in admitting that he’s considering signing the Tottenham winger at the end of the season, saying:
“Lamela is one we are considering. We are trying to understand if there are the possibilities to get there. Certainly, should Orsolini leave, there would be no better substitute.”
Understandably, Tottenham fans had plenty to say about this.
Lamela has his die-hard fans at Spurs, and we can understand why. He’s a flashy player who wears his heat on his sleeve and has the tendency to produce the odd moment of magic. He’s everything you could want in a cult hero, and these fans who idolise him would be gutted to see him go.
Unfortunately, the reality is that there’s a good case to make for selling him. He’s going into the final year of his deal, his injury record is chequered to say the least and Spurs have plenty of depth in the wide areas.
Whether or not Lamela does go remains to be seen, but if he is sold, some Spurs fans will be absolutely devastated.
