Steven Pienaar has responded to Everton star James Rodriguez’s post on Instagram following the match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Pienaar, who played for both Everton and Tottenham, has praised James for his performance on the debut for the Toffees.
According to WhoScored, against Tottenham on Sunday, the Colombia international – who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger – took three shots of which none was on target, played five key passes, had a pass accuracy of 83.9%, won one header, took 74 touches, attempted two dribble, made one tackle and four interceptions, and put in one cross.
Everton won the Premier League game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 1-0, and after the match, James took to Instagram to revel in the triumph, and Pienaar has responded.
Pienaar responded: “You were 🔥today lad keep going and making our team great.”
Exciting times for Everton fans
James was superb on his debut for Everton, having recently joined Carlo Ancelotti’s side from Spanish and European giants Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The Colombian looked very classy and was arguably the best player on the pitch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
