Dharmesh Sheth told the Transfer Show on Sky Sports (17/08/21 at 5:20 pm) that Jesse Lingard is feeling ‘very relaxed’ at a possible West Ham transfer.
The Sky reporter claimed that Lingard’s situation is one to ‘keep an eye on because there is ‘every chance’ West Ham will make a move for him before deadline day.
Lingard missed Manchester United’s win against Leeds over the weekend because he was in isolation, but he’s now ready to try and push into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team plans.
West Ham haven’t done much business this summer, but according to Sheth, Lingard is one that they shouldn’t rule out at any cost.
“He’s out of isolation now,” said Sheth. “He scored for Manchester United in a behind-closed-doors game against Burnley (on Tuesday). 3-1 win for Man United.
“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has maintained that Jesse Lingard is in his plans for this season. West Ham do retain an interest in signing Jesse Lingard. And why wouldn’t they? Terrific loan spell.
“There is every chance they will make moves for Lingard before the deadline is up, so one to keep an eye on.
“Lingard is very relaxed about his situation now. He has entered the final year of his contract. He’s been told, on one hand, he is in the plans and in the other hand, he knows he holds all the cards because he has one year left on his contract.”

Given the impact Lingard had in East London, it would be daft of those in the West Ham boardroom if they didn’t push the boat out for his talents.
Rio Ferdinand labelled the Old Trafford academy product as ‘intelligent’ in March, as he told his own YouTube channel.
The Hammers are in Europe, they need that added depth as it is and with Lingard’s experience, he would provide everyone at the London Stadium with a much-needed lift.
