RB Salzburg attacking midfielder Brenden Aaronson is keen on a move to Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror journalist David Anderson.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has told GiveMeSport that Aaronson is keen on a transfer to Leeds.

However, according to Aaronson, a transfer depends on whether or not Leeds survive in the Premier League.

The West Yorkshire outfit could go down to the Championship on the final day of the season tomorrow.

Brenden Aaronson wants Leeds United move

Anderson told GiveMeSport: “If they survive, then they can get Aaronson. That deal was, obviously, quite well progressed in January, but Salzburg were adamant that they didn’t want to sell him at that moment.

“Don’t forget that they had that big Champions League game against Bayern Munich. This summer is the time when that deal can be done. He’s keen to come and, of course, you’ve now got the Marsch connection as well.”

Leeds United survival key

In our opinion, if Leeds United are to sign Brenden Aaronson from RB Salzburg in the summer transfer window, then they have to stay in the Premier League.

They simply have to.

Aaronson has played in the Champions League and won the Austrian Bundesliga title with Salzburg.

So he will surely not want to take a step back and play in the second tier of English football.

The USA international playmaker gave two assists in eight Champions League games for Salzburg this season.

Aaronson has scored four goals and given five assists in the Austrian Bundesliga this campaign.

Meanwhile, Calcio Atalanta have reported that Atalanta chief Lee Congerton wants to sign Wales international winger Daniel James from Leeds in the summer transfer window.
