Everton completed the signing of Cenk Tosun from Besiktas last week.
Everton defender Michael Keane has told the club’s official website that new signing Cenk Tosun will help the Toffees become more expansive and predicts the striker to hit the ground running bduring the second half of the season.
The Merseyside club completed the signing of Tosun from Besiktas last week, penning him to a four-and-a-half-year deal at Goodison Park for a few believed to be around the £25million mark.
He joins Sam Allardyce’s side with the expectation of succeeding Romelu Lukaku, who joined Manchester United last summer and all eyes will be on the Turk if he starts against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Keane is expectant of the Turkey international, as he expects his signing will improve Everton in attack. Keane also spoke about how long-term absentees Yannick Bolasie, James McCarthy and Seamus Coleman are like new signings.
“We just need to be more expansive going forward when we have the ball,” Keane said. “I think that will happen. Cenk is definitely going to help us in that respect and, hopefully, he will hit the ground running for us.
“I feel like the squad is getting much bigger. It actually feels like we have a few new signings. Yannick was out for such a long time and James has been brilliant since he has come back into the team. They are like new players.
“And we have players still to come back. We hope Seamus Coleman will be back in the not too distant future and have other great players to step in who have not been playing, so we can only improve.”
Keane, 24, has struggled to adapt to life on Merseyside since his big-money move from Burnley in the summer, playing in just three of Everton’s three Premier League victories this season.
However, he started last time out in the league against Manchester United and could play against Spurs on Saturday evening after being rested for the Merseyside derby on Friday night.
