Robbie Keane stated on Instagram that there are ‘many more to come’ after Harry Kane reached 200 club goals during Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Newcastle on Wednesday evening.
After netting a brace at St James’ Park, Kane shared on his personal Instagram account that he was ‘very proud’ at reaching such a feat.
That’s when Keane, and a number of current and former players, responded to Kane’s message, including former Spurs midfielder Tom Carroll.
He simply posted ‘love that’, as Keane’s whole message read: “Congrats pal. So happy for you. Many more to come.”
Here is Kane’s message, as he dedicated the win to Serge Aurier, who played against Newcastle despite the death of his brother 48 hours earlier.
Prior to lockdown, Kane was out of action for a number of months which proved to be costly for a Spurs side that were hoping to secure Champions League football this term.
They still have an outside chance of doing just that, but it seems as though it will be Europa League football for Jose Mourinho’s side instead.
Mourinho will be hoping Kane does stay away from the treatment room next term because it’ll increase Tottenham’s chances of winning a trophy and finishing as high as possible in the league.
