Roy Keane heaped praise on Alisson Becker after his heroic display for Brazil in their 4-1 win against South Korea in the World Cup last-16 clash.

But he also discussed why the Liverpool No.1 has a reason to feel gutted after the contest.

On the night, Tite’s men played champagne football.

Scoring 4 goals within 36 minutes, the ‘Samba Boys’ proved why they were billed as the outright pre-tournament favourites.

Despite their attacking splendor at Stadium 974, the Reds fan favourite still managed to put on a masterclass.

The former Roma goalkeeper, who joined Jurgen Klopp’s side for a record £67 million-fee (Sky Sports) in 2018 came up clutch on a host of occasions.

And each and every time, the 30-year-old managed to outdo himself with yet another splendid save.

Hailed as the best goalkeeper in the world by many, the Liverpool legend showcased why he is held in such high esteem.

Keane was impressed by Alisson’s heroics

Speaking on ITV after the contest, Roy Keane singled out why Alisson would be gutted after his exploits in the World Cup Round of 16 mismatch, despite being at his brilliant best.

“Alisson will be disappointed with conceding a goal. There’s not much he can do with it, there’s a couple of deflections on the way.”

“We’ve said it before; an outstanding goalkeeper.”

In the 76th minute, Paik Seung-ho scored a stunner from outside the box, that was met with deflections to hand South Korea a deserved consolation goal.

Despite Alisson’s magnificence, it would be harsh to expect him to keep such a thunderous strike from piercing the back of the net.

It’s impossible to disagree with Keane on Alisson

It’s simple — Alisson Becker is a freakishly complete goalkeeper.

Especially since last season, the Brazilian No.1 is operating at a level rarely ever seen in a while from any other shotstopper.

All one can do is emulate Roy Keane and tip their hat to Alisson for just being a once-in-a-generation goalkeeper.

But it is understandable why the Scot reckons the Liverpool hero would be puzzled to concede a goal, considering how superb he was on the night.
