There’s been very little positive about Arsenal’s start to the Premier League season.
The Gunners have lost both games to Brentford and Chelsea by a 2-0 scoreline.
And not only that, but Mikel Arteta has had a spate of injuries and covid-related issues to deal with, hindering his squad in a big way.
With that in mind, it’s no surprise that they’ve endured a rotten start.
One big positive though is Albert Sambi Lokonga.
Arsenal signed the 21-year-old from Anderlecht in July for £17 million and he has looked the part in both Premier League games.
He was easily the Gunners’ best player in that defeat by Chelsea this past weekend and it seems like Roberto Martinez, the Belgium boss, has taken note too.
Martinez has called Lokonga up for international duty next month and a senior debut for his country could follow.
Here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to this news on Twitter:

Bargain
It’s very early days but that £17 million is looking like a bargain.
He has been one of Arsenal’s lesser deals in terms of profile, with Ben White, Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale also joining Arteta’s side.
But it does look as if Edu has found himself a gem and there’s genuine excitement over how much better Lokonga can get this season.
