Tottenham Hotspur loanee Gedson Fernandes enjoyed a decent 90 minutes on Friday night.
Portugal Under-21 side thumped their Norway equivalent 4-1 in European Championship qualifying.
And Gedson, who joined Tottenham on loan from Benfica in January, played a role in one of the goals by setting up Pedro Neto’s opener after six minutes.
The 21-year-old, who has appeared in just one of Spurs’ eight games across all competitions this season, didn’t have a great deal to do.
Gedson simply passed to Neto in midfield, before the latter embarked on a powerful run en route to scoring.
And some Tottenham fans mocked the simplistic nature of his assist last night.
Gedson is clearly a talent, otherwise he wouldn’t be in North London and part of Jose Mourinho’s squad, but they did him no favours by signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg during the summer.
With the Dane coming in, that’s likely to reduce Gedson’s game-time further.
Tottenham have really thrown down the gauntlet and it’ll be interesting to see how he responds.
As of right now, he has it all to do.
