Koeman has made it clear that Niasse will not feature in Everton’s first team squad.

Everton flop Oumar Niasse is on track to become one of the Blues worst ever signings, bought by former manager Roberto Martinez from Lokomotiv Moscow in February 2016.

Martinez had no qualms of making Niasse Everton’s third most expensive signing, managing only 150 minutes of football as a Blues player.

Ronald Koeman only had to take one look at Niasse and that was enough to tell the Dutchman that the striker is simply not good enough for the Toffees first team. With no shirt number or summer move to another club, the Senegalese player is still an unused Everton player this season.

The striker was selected by David Unsworth this week to feature in Everton’s U23 side to face Arsenal. Niasse shocked everyone by scoring his first ever goal for the Blues. Despite finding the back of the net, Koeman’s latest comments reported by The Guardian has ruled out the possibility of a return to the first team squad.

Has Koeman made the right decision?

Even some of the most hard-hearted, disciplinarian of managers would allow any player to try and get their place back in the team. So why hasn’t Koeman given Niasse this chance?

Given the lack of up front options Everton have, with Lukaku Everton’s only reliable striker, Niasse must really be someone not worth having in your side.

The Dutchman also revealed in the same report by The Guardian, that the striker had the option to leave but decided to stay. With Niasse totally aware that he wouldn’t be playing for the Blues, the Senegalese player must be happy to play for the U23’s while pocketing a lump sum of wages.

To not push for a move knowing full well your situation at the club, shows that the former Russian Premier League star is happy to not play football.

Judging from the dreadful displays from games that Niasse featured in last season, there’s no way that Koeman will ever go back on his word.
