Manchester City secured an easy win against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League Wednesday night.
Pep Guardiola will be pleased with another victory under his belt
After being postponed on Tuesday due to poor weather conditions, Manchester City were finally able to continue their unbeaten start in all competitions with a 4-0 thumping in their group opener.
City dominated the game yet again and outclassed Monchengladbach. Manager Pep Guardiola’s first group stage game for Manchester City didn’t disappoint.
The man of the match was Sergio Aguero, who scored his second hat-trick in two Champions League starts for City. Aguero opened the score line in the 8th minute, with his second coming when City were awarded a penalty after Ilkay Gundogan was fouled.

Aguero’s third came in the second-half, with Iheanacho also scoring in stoppage time. The only surprise of the game was the fact that Aguero didn’t score more. The striker was on fire, Monchengladbach couldn’t stop the 28-year-old in what was an embarrassing performance for the German side.
Manchester City’s Champions League record hasn’t been up to par in recent seasons, with two exits at the group stage, twice going out in the last-16 and a semi-final place over the last five years.
Guardiola will be hoping to lead Manchester City all the way to the final. His record is impressive – reaching at least the semi-finals in his seven campaigns in the Champions League. Guardiola also helped guide Barcelona to the title twice.
City’s win against Monchengladbach makes it seven wins out of seven for Guardiola, in front of an attendance of 32,000 City fans, a figure that was affected by Tuesday’s postponement.
