Leicester City won their first Premier League game this season against Swansea City Saturday.

The champions are back to winning ways after a 2-1 victory against Swansea at the King Power stadium.

Leicester overcame terrible weather conditions as fans favourite Jamie Vardy scored his first goal of the season, as a superb Danny Drinkwater assist allowed Vardy to put the Foxes 1-0 up. That was the England international’s 50th goal for Leicester, as he became only the third player to score more than 30 Premier League goals for the champions.

Wes Morgan put the Foxes 2-0 up just after half-time, but Riyad Mahrez failed to make it 3 after a poor penalty miss. The Algerian winger has now failed to score three out of his last four spot-kicks.

Leicester survived a late scare as Leroy Fer’s header put Swansea back in the game with 20 minutes to go, but the Foxes did enough to hold on and secure their first victory of this Premier League campaign.

Claudio Ranieri’s side deserved the three points, which marked the manager’s 100th Premier League win.

Leicester will face Liverpool in their next game at Anfield on September 10, after the international break.
