Swansea City lost 2-1 to Leicester at the King Power stadium.

Swansea City were outclassed by Leicester City, as Francesco Guidolin’s side lost to the champions.

Jamie Vardy scored his first goal of the season, putting Leicester 1-0 up in the 32nd minute. Wes Morgan’s volley made it 2-0 in the 52 minute.

In the second-half, Leicester had a chance to make it 3-0 after Shinji Okazaki was brought down, but Riyad Mahrez’s penalty effort was saved by Lukasz Fabianski. The Foxes should have scored more goals.

The Swans looked lost in the first-half, as the Foxes dominated the game. The Welsh side were lucky that there wasn’t a repeat King Power hammering (the Swans lost 4-0 when the two sides last met at this stadium).

Swansea got back into the game in the final 20 minutes after offering almost nothing beforehand. Leroy Fer headed the ball in the back of the net in the 80 minute. But the Welsh team left it too late to salvage a point from the game. In the end, the Foxes deserved the victory.

Despite the defeat, there are some positives Guidolin’s side can take from the game. The Swans showed some fight towards the end. Swansea’s next match will be at home to Chelsea on September 11th, and the Welsh side must do everything they can to try and get something out of what will be a tough game.
