Here are three key points from Swansea’s victory against Peterborough.
1. The Swans have come back stronger
Following a defeat to Hull last weekend, manager Francesco Guidolin will be happy with his teams performance. Swans fans can be pleased with the way their young players stepped up. The EFL cup is a competition that Guidolin will be targeting for the Welsh side to succeed in.
2. Youngsters took their chance
In an evening where Guidolin took a chance on his young players, the gamble certainly paid off as Oliver McBurnie was the star man of the game. The striker may be third in line when it comes to options up front, but the youngster made an impact in the game scoring twice in his debut.
Fellow youngster Jay Fulton also got on the score sheet for the Swans. Both players made an impressive impact in the game.
3. Don’t be deceived, a replacement for Ashley Williams is still needed
Former Swansea player Ashley Williams signed for Everton this Summer
The Welsh side didn’t face too many defensive problems to worry fans against Peterborough, but it still felt like there was a big presence missing.
Given the way the team conceded against Hull, a new centre-back is certainly needed. Guidolin is still on the look-out for a replacement for the Welshman.
There will be tougher tests around the corner and the club should not be deceived by a clean sheet.
