Crystal Palace have signed Chelsea striker Loic Remy on loan.

Crystal Palace yesterday confirmed the season-long loan signing of Loic Remy from Chelsea.

The 29-year old has only made nine Premier League starts for Chelsea in his two seasons at the club.

The Blues originally signed Remy from QPR for £10.5 million in 2014, and the striker scored 12 times for Chelsea in 47 appearances for the club.

The French international has already worked under Palace manager Alan Pardew, during a successful loan move at Newcastle in 2013-14. The striker netted an impressive 14 goals for the Magpies.

Remy will add another addition to Palace’s attacking options, which is something that Pardew has been looking to bring to Selhurst Park. Pardew will be hoping that the striker will be able to re-create the success achieved at St James’ Park. Remy has the ability to score goals and help guide Palace up the table.

The signing of the Frenchman is a smart move for Palace and he joins the arrivals of Christian Benteke, Andros Townsend, James Tomkins and Steve Mandanda – who have all signed with the South London team this transfer window.
