A controversial last minute goal saw Arsenal secure victory as Burnley suffered a cruel defeat at home.
In the 93rd minute, Theo Walcott flicked an Alexis Sanchez cross, from which Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fired home, touching the elbow of Laurent Koscielny. Despite claims of offside, the goal should have been ruled out, as it was a clear handball by the Gunners captain.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche will no doubt be furious with the manner in which the goal was given, preventing his side from picking up a valuable point. The Clarets deserved to get something out of the game; the Gunners struggled to break down the home team who worked hard throughout the game.

The recently promoted side came close to scoring with Michael Keane hitting the woodwork and Sam Vokes nearly putting the hosts in front. The Gunners gave a poor performance in the first half, with only Alexis Sanchez coming close for the North London side.

Despite a not so deserved three points from the Gunners, Arsene Wenger will be pleased that his side managed to pick up three points in a game that was the Frenchman’s 20th anniversary at Arsenal.
