Kazenga LuaLua has told the Chronicle that he does not regret moving to Sunderland.

LuaLua joined Sunderland from Brighton & Hove Albion in the January transfer window, but he has not been able to make too much of an impact at the Stadium of Light.

The attacker has not started a match for Sunderland since arriving, and was only used as a substitute in their defeat to Preston North End at the weekend.

However, LuaLua insists that he does not regret moving to Sunderland and he insists he will keep fighting to help his side survive in the Championship.

“It is difficult to come on at 2-0 down but it is what you get paid for, to try and change the game, but it was too late,” LuaLua said. “People say we are down already but anything can happen in football.

“I wanted to come here and I don’t regret it at all. Anything is possible in football.”

Sunderland’s defeat to Preston has put them even deeper into trouble, as they sit at the bottom of the Championship table.

The Black Cats are currently five points adrift of safety, with just eight games remaining this season.

Sunderland now have two weeks off, where Chris Coleman will have to perform a miracle on the training ground, if he is to keep his side in the division.

Sunderland are next in action on Friday 30th, when they take on Derby County.
