Kasper Schmeichel has named Tottenham striker Harry Kane as one of the tough strikers he has ever faced, as he told Sky Sports.
The Leicester City shot-stopper named the Spurs man alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku.
England did fall at the final hurdle at Euro 2020, but Kane did play his part in knocking out Schmeichel’s Denmark at the semi-final stages of the summer-long tournament.
And when the Dane was asked to name the toughest strikers he has had to face during his career, he didn’t hesitate to put Kane’s name alongside quite a list of forwards.
“There are many tough strikers,” said the Euro 2020 star. “I mean, obviously Cristiano Ronaldo. I haven’t had the pleasure of playing against Lionel Messi yet.
“But Ronaldo has to be one of them. Lukaku and Harry Kane. You can’t single one out. They are all so good.
“Just the three that I have mentioned are so different, in so many ways, but all incredible athletes and incredible goalscorers in their own right.”
Brendan Rodgers’s side face off against Manchester City next month and many Spurs fans will be hoping that Kane is not lining up for the Premier League champions.
The whole transfer saga surrounding the Englishman hasn’t been helpful for those in Spurs colours, especially Nuno Espirito Santo.
But he has handled the situation in an incredible fashion and he will now be hoping that Kane is ready for the long road ahead.
Kane came off the bench on Sunday as Spurs recorded a 1-0 win at Nuno’s old stomping ground.
And in truth, it should have been more because Kane had an ample opportunity to put the ball into the back of the net.
