West Ham have tied Reece Oxford down to a new deal at the club.

West Ham United’s vice-chairman Karren Brady has told The Sun that Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United all wanted to sign Reece Oxford.

The Hammers made it seven points in six days earlier today, as they beat Hull City 1-0 after a 1-0 win over Burnley and a 2-2 draw away at Liverpool earlier in the week.

Those results will ease the pressure on manager Slaven Bilic, and the club were given some great news on Friday, as Reece Oxford penned a new deal with the club.

Oxford, 18, has come up through the ranks at the club, and his huge potential has seen the teenager – who can play at centre back or in holding midfield – earn comparisons to former Hammers youth star Rio Ferdinand.

The England Under-20 international earned major plaudits last season after putting in a stunning performance away at Arsenal on the opening weekend of the campaign, but went on to play just six more Premier League games after that display.

This term, Oxford has yet to play in the Premier League, but he decided to commit his future to the Hammers by penning a new four-and-a-half year deal on his 18th birthday.

After he put pen-to-paper on his new contract, Hammers vice-chairman Karren Brady told The Sun that Premier League rivals Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United were all hoping to sign him.

Brady added that she thinks Oxford is one of the best young talents in the country, and thinks West Ham have shown a huge change in the club by keeping hold of Oxford rather than selling him, like previous regimes may have done.

“Despite strong interest from some of the country’s big guns, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal, Reece Oxford commits to the Hammers by signing a four-and-a-half year deal,” said Brady. “Reece is one of the best young talents in the English game. West Ham used to be a club that sold its young talent — no more,” she added.
