West Ham United have been extremely busy during this month’s transfer window.
When writing her regular column for the Sun, Hammers vice-chairman Karren Brady discussed the ongoing Dimitri Payet situation, and shared what has been driving David Gold and David Sullivan to distraction.
The club has had to endure a turbulent couple of weeks, off the pitch at least, after the 29-year-old Frenchman demanded to leave.
And Marseille have already seen three bids for Payet rejected by West Ham, as he continues to train with the club’s under-23’s.

Brady opened up on how busy the last few weeks have been following the Frenchman’s transfer request, when writing her column for the Sun, highlighting the influence of agents as a major distraction:
“HELP! The agents are circling — scenting percentages. They are driving my poor chairman to distraction. At the start of the month, I thought West Ham were in for a quiet transfer window — then we had the Dimitri Payet ‘incident’. It’s been mayhem ever since.”

Hammers fans will be hoping that their club can reach some kind of agreement with the Ligue 1 outfit for Payet, because it is now quite clear that he has no future in East London.
And the way in which the team have performed without him of late just goes to show that one player, no matter how talented they are, will never be bigger than the club itself.
