West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has praised Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton in her football diary in The Sun.

Britton was on the books of West Ham from 1998 until 2003, but the midfielder failed to make an impact for the London club.

The Englishman subsequently moved to Swansea City and then to Sheffield United, before returning to the Swans in 2011.

The 34-year-old has established himself as a key player for Swansea over the years, and has played well in recent matches.

West Ham vice-chairman Brady has spoken highly of the former West Ham prospect.

“He is yet another of those West Ham lads who has made a fine career at another club,” Brady wrote in her football diary in The Sun ahead of Swansea’s Premier League game against Everton at the Liberty Stadium last Saturday afternoon.

“They are everywhere, almost an England team. This one is Leon Britton, Swansea’s little worker bee with the skill to orchestrate a whole midfield.

“At 34 and back in the side, he’ll be desperate to help the cause for which he has given 15 years and more than 450 games in all four divisions. That invaluable service deserves rewards.”

Britton featured for Swansea against Everton at the weekend and helped the Welsh outfit win the Premier League game 1-0.

The midfielder has created two chances in 14 league matches for the Swans so far this season.

Swansea are 17th in the league table at the moment with 35 points from 36 matches, just a point above the relegation zone.
