Once linked with West Ham United, N’Golo Kante joined Chelsea from Leicester City in the summer of 2016.

West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has stated in her football diary in The Sun that N’Golo Kante is a world-class footballer.
Kante is one of the best players in the Premier League and has been a key figure for Chelsea this season.
According to The Daily Star, the Blues had to pay Leicester a transfer fee of £32.5 million in the summer of 2016 in order to secure the services of the midfielder.
The 25-year-old was one of Leicester’s best players last season and played a key role in the Foxes’ Premier League title triumph.
The France international midfielder looks set to win the league title this season, this time with Chelsea.
West Ham vice-chairman Brady believes that Kante is a world-class footballer, and appears to have taken a dig at Burnley midfielder Joey Barton.
“Ryan Giggs says it’s hard to think of any world-class players other than Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez of English clubs in the Champions League,” Brady wrote in her football diary in The Sun.
“Should be easier next season, Ryan, when Chelsea are in it. He could start with Eden Hazard, go on to Thibaut Courtois and add, unquestionably, N’Golo Kante.
“The Frenchman, extracted from Leicester City for £32.5million last summer, is far-out favourite for Footballer of the Year and only Joey Barton in the whole universe reckons he’s over-rated.”
Interestingly, West Ham were linked with a move for Kante before his move to Leicester from Caen in the summer of 2015.
Back in July 2015, The Daily Mail claimed that the Hammers had enquired about signing the Frenchman from Caen when he was valued at around £5m.
One wonders what would have happened had West Ham been able to secure the signature of Kante back in 2015…
