Recruitment at the London club have been disappointing in recent seasons, and the team’s lofty ambitions of competing for the top-six or the top-eight now look like a distant dream.
West Ham vice-chairman Brady has defended Gold and Sullivan, and has stated that they work tirelessly for the club.
Brady wrote in The Sun: “David Sullivan and David Gold have given eight years of blood, sweat and tears to help West Ham escape a very perilous situation upon our arrival, make the club financially sustainable and realise an ambitious stadium move, all of which have come with great challenges and sacrifice.
“Both are boyhood supporters of the club who want nothing more than to see West Ham United succeed — and will give it their everything to make that happen.
“Their families barely see them they are so consumed by the club, so I can promise you they really do care and I know there are plenty of supporters out there who David Sullivan may have emailed at 3am who will verify that!”
Gold and Sullivan do have West Ham’s best interests at heart, but the problem is that results on the pitch has been disappointing.
One aspect that the Hammers need to look at is recruitment. While the club did well to sign players such as Manuel Lanzini and Dimitri Payet, they have also brought in players who were simply not good enough for the Premier League.
