West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has been discussing the club’s big move for Portugal midfielder William Carvalho.
The Hammers have completed what looks to be some very good business this summer already even if they are yet to gel on the pitch following the opening day thrashing at the hands of title hopefuls Manchester United.
Slaven Bilic has brought in experienced defender Pablo Zabaleta to solve his problem right back position, England goalkeeper Joe Hart, Marko Arnautovic, striker Javier Hernandez and young prospect Saed Haksabanovic.
But with a net spend of just £10 million so far, there is speculation the Hammers are far from done in the window.

Reports claimed the East Londoners were close to sealing the club record transfer of William Carvalho, as reported by the likes of The Mirror.
The 25-year-old – who was a key figure in helping Portugal win the European Championships last summer – has been denied a move to the Premier League before now as Sporting have always proved notoriously difficult to negotiate with.
And it seems that might be the case yet again with latest speculation suggesting the deal was close to collapse.
But Hammers vice-chairman Brady seemed to suggest the club were still hopeful of completing a deal even if she wasn’t giving much away when appearing as a guest on Sky Sports Debate on Wednesday night.
“Erm, well, my chairman (David Sullivan) handles all the transfers and negotiations and he’s working very closely (on the Carvalho deal),” Brady told Debate.

“It’s very complex signing players, you think you make a decision to buy them but there’s so many various different layers and actually getting it done and doing it in the timeframe you want isn’t always possible.
“But I know they are working very hard on it.”
