West Ham vice chairman Karren Brady has taken to Twitter to defend her remarks made at a conference regarding the corporate culture at the club.
Hammers fans on Twitter targeted the 47-year-old after completely misunderstanding her remarks about the club having “no culture”.
Brady was responsible for securing the London Stadium for West Ham and pushed through the move, which has made her a target for fans who wanted to stay at Upton Park.
And today, media reported that Brady claimed the move to London Stadium was part of the drive to “get culture right” at West Ham.
This summation of her comments angered fans who took it to mean she was attacking the supporters of the club and many took to Twitter to vent their frustration…
Brady and co-chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold have been accused of selling the club’s soul by moving it to the former Olympic Stadium in Stratford and this latest confusion has just added fuel to their critics’ fire.
In response to the barrage of abuse targeted at her twitter account, Brady took to twitter herself to clarify what she actually said.
The move from Upton Park to the London Stadium is part of the board’s attempts to rebrand the club and Karren Brady has told the Guardian she considers it to be a success, despite the troubles that have plagued the venue in the early season fixtures.
