The West Ham United vice-chairman comments on Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has given her thoughts on Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in her football diary in The Sun.

Ibrahimovic, who joined United in the summer transfer window after leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season, was recently awarded a stature of himself in Sweden.

The stature was awarded to the 35-year-old striker after he won Sweden’s Footballer of the Year award for the the 10th time in a row and for the 11th time in total.

The former Juventus and Barcelona striker recently told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet when asked about playing in Major League Soccer: “It’s a huge option for me. For the football and everything else.

“I can see myself conquering the US as I have with Europe. Lots of people stay in one place throughout their career, but I’ve traveled around like Napoleon, and conquered every new country where I’ve sat foot.

“So perhaps I should do what Napoleon didn’t and cross the Atlantic and conquer the States as well.”

Manchester United's Zlatan Ibrahimovic

West Ham vice-chairman Brady has given her thoughts on Ibrahimovic, comparing his ego to that of Donald Trump, President-elect of the United States of America.

“Whatever else the Manchester United striker is short of, it certainly isn’t his own self-importance,” Brady wrote in her football diary in The Sun. “Grasping a model of the sculpture, he said that, like Napoleon, he’s conquered every country he’s played in.

“Well, he hasn’t done it for United in England yet. Indeed, recently he’s been about as lively as that statue.

“Despite his United contract looking set to roll into a second year, the Swede, 35, hinted he will be marching on to the MLS in America soon. While he’s there, he’ll be able to compare egos with president-elect Donald Trump.”

Ibrahimovic will go down in history as one of the greatest footballers of all time.

The Swedish striker has won a lot of trophies and has played for some of the biggest clubs in the world.

The 35-year-old has achieved success with Juventus, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain among other clubs.

True, things are not going well for the striker at United at the moment, but fans should keep faith.

Ibrahimovic has scored six goals and created 15 chances in 11 Premier League appearances for United so far this season.
