The West Ham United vice-chairman says that she has sympathy for Sunderland owner Ellis Short.
Brady has stated that she has sympathy for Short, who bought Sunderland back in 2009, as reported by The Guardian.
“No doubt Ellis Short is a good businessman,” Brady wrote in The Sun. “His years as owner of Sunderland must disappoint him. Indeed it must have been as frustrating to him as those fans who wondered just how many lives their cats could have near the dustbin of the Premier League before finally, nine months ago, being slung out of the back door.
“I have a good deal of sympathy for Short. It is not easy to battle against the tidal pull of relegation. And, while swapping management seats in the equity fund he built would be, for him, a relatively straightforward task, doing it in a football club is an entirely different experience.”
Sunderland problems
Sunderland fans have grown tired of Short and are frustrated with him, and it is clear that they want the 57-year-old to sell the club.
The Black Cats were playing in the Premier League only last season, but now they are in danger of slipping down to League One.
For a club with a stadium capacity of 49,000, it is unthinkable that Sunderland will be playing in the third tier of English football, but that is a possibility.
What is important right now is for the fans to give their full backing to manager Chris Coleman and the players in their fight for survival in the Championship.
Sunderland are second from bottom in the Championship table at the moment.
