West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has praised Sunderland midfielder Didier Ibrahim N’Dong’s attitude in her football diary in The Sun (Thursday, September 1, 2016 entry).

N’Dong joined Sunderland from French club Lorient in the summer transfer window.

According to The Telegraph, the Black Cats had to pay the Ligue 1 outfit a transfer fee £13.6 million in order to secure the services of the 22-year-old midfielder on transfer deadline day.

The Gabon international has arrived at the Stadium of Light with a good reputation, and the youngster has already made it clear that he will give his all for David Moyes’s side.

“Maybe the Sunderland fans don’t know me yet, but I promise that they will quickly discover that I will give everything for them and the club,” N’Dong told Sunderland’s official website after completing his move.

“It will be an honour to wear the Sunderland shirt and I will wear it with a true understanding of what it means. I am excited to meet everyone at the club, to see the stadium and of course the fans, who I have heard so many good things about. Today is the most beautiful day of my life.”

Brady has praised N’Dong for his positive attitude, and has also commented on the former CS Sfaxien midfielder’s hairstyle.

“The most important element in top-class players is positivity,” Brady wrote in her football diary in The Sun (Thursday, September 1, 2016 entry).

“And in Didier Ndong it comes from the oddest source, if for no other reason than that he has a hairstyle that suggests he has blond worms sprouting from his head.

“Nding, Ndong, who cares? I’ve heard no better example of positivity than his comment on joining Sunderland for £13.5million from Lorient.

“He said: ‘Sunderland fans don’t know me yet but they will quickly discover I will give everything. Today is the most beautiful day of my life.’”

N’Dong scored two goals and created 16 chances in 34 Ligue 1 appearances for Lorient during the 2015-16 season, according to Squawka.com.

The 22-year-old midfielder had a pass accuracy of 87% and a shot accuracy of 23%, and won 50 headers, 38 dribbles and 77 tackles, according to Squawka.com.
