West Ham have snapped up striker Simone Zaza – but talks seemingly weren’t easy.

West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has told The Sun that the deal to sign Juventus striker Simone Zaza was ‘fairly complicated’.

The Hammers moved to snap up 12 new signings over the summer, and whilst right back Alvaro Arbeloa was the last of those signings to arrive, but one of the most important could be Simone Zaza.

West Ham spent most of the summer looking for a new striker, and after hitting brick walls with a number of players, they moved to snap up Zaza towards the end of the summer transfer window

The Italian international, 25, was only a backup striker for Juventus last season as he offered cover for Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Moarta, and is now looking for first-team football with Slaven Bilic’s men.

A strong, quick and skilful forward, Zaza could be the striker West Ham have been looking for, and he’ll certainly receive a great supply line from the likes of Dimitri Payet, Manuel Lanzini, Michail Antonio and Sofiane Feghouli.

Zaza will be in contention to make his West Ham debut against Watford after the international break, and the club’s vice-chairman Karren Brady has offered some insight on the deal to sign him.

Brady told The Sun that the move for Zaza was ‘fairly complicated’, given that the striker is on a season-long loan deal but will become permanent once he’s made a certain number of appearances this season.

Brady also added that co-chairman David Sullivan suggested that finalising negotiations with Juventus was the ‘hardest day of his life’ – but talks tend to be difficult when you really want to sign a player.

“We construct a fairly complicated loan deal with Juventus,” said Brady. “It was described by David Sullivan, who handled the talks, as the “hardest” day of his life. But when you really want to sign someone it is difficult to negotiate,” she added.
