Karolina Muchova has just reached the women’s singles final at Wimbledon with a three-set victory over Coco Gauff.
Muchova won 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (12-10) on Centre Court in a blockbuster match that will be remembered for a while.
The Czech player even overcame an injury scare in her semi-final win, as she appeared to be struggling with midsection pain.
Muchova has previously dealt with abdominal issues, which forced her to withdraw from the 2022 Miami Open.
She has since provided a fitness update ahead of her Wimbledon final match against either Marta Kostyuk or Linda Noskova.

What Karolina Muchova said about her fitness before the Wimbledon final
Karolina Muchova confirmed in her post-match interview with BBC Sport that she did not suffer an injury against Coco Gauff.
“Yeah, I’m okay. I was just trying to catch my breath. I’m good,” she explained her apparent discomfort during the semi-final.
Muchova now has around 48 hours to prepare for the final on Saturday—only her second Grand Slam final.
The 29-year-old may never have a better opportunity to win her first Slam, considering her potential opponents.
All of the pre-tournament favourites (Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Iga Swiatek and Mirra Andreeva) have been eliminated.
As is often the case in women’s tennis, we will soon have another breakout star, with the division so wide open.
