According to the Chronicle, Newcastle are in talks with the 27-year-old over a new deal.
However, Darlow would be wise to reject the offer and make a switch elsewhere in the summer.
The stopper, who signed from Nottingham Forest in 2014, has enjoyed his time at St. James’ Park, but his chances of playing first-team football now look very limited.
Newcastle are all set to snap up Martin Dubravka in the summer, and Darlow is too good to simply sit on the bench.
At his age, Darlow should be heading into the peak of his career, and he should look to maximise his ability elsewhere.
The stopper would be a stand out option for any Championship side, and would surely have no end of suitors if he was made available.
And if Darlow wants to play first-team football he would be best off leaving Newcastle in pursuit of a move elsewhere.
