Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow has told Sky Sports’ EFL Weekly podcast (November 17, 2016) what he expects from this weekend’s match against Leeds United.

The Magpies will take on Leeds away from home at Elland Road in the Championship on Sunday afternoon.

Rafael Benitez’s side will head into the game with confidence and will fancy picking up at least a point.

Newcastle are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 37 points from 16 matches, three points clear of second-placed Brighton & Hove Albion.

Goalkeeper Darlow, who is 26 years of age, has outlined what he expects from the match against Leeds on Sunday afternoon.

“I think similar to what we have been all season away from home,” said the former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper on Sky Sports’ EFL Weekly podcast (November 17, 2016) when asked what he expects from the game against Leeds.

“We know that teams don’t want us to play football, that they want to press us, so we need to make sure that we are ready for a high-pressing game from Leeds and that we move the ball quickly and we play our football when we can.”

Leeds are going strong in the Championship at the moment and are genuine playoff contenders this season.

Playing at home will give Garry Monk’s side an advantage against Newcastle, and the players will feel confident of eking out a win.

The West Yorkshire outfit are sixth in the Championship table at the moment with 26 points from 16 matches, a point clear of seventh-placed Birmingham City.
