Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow has not featured in the Premier League at all this season.

Darlow kept goal for Newcastle last term, as the Magpies won promotion from the Championship, but he has lost his place to Rob Elliott this term.
Elliott has impressed in goal for Newcastle, with the Republic of Ireland international’s form solid.
And Darlow admits that he has been frustrated, as he has had to watch on from the sidelines.

“Of course it’s been a frustrating start for me,” Darlow said.
“I’ve wanted to play but it’s the manager’s decision so I have to stick by it, just keep working hard on the training ground and hope things improve for myself.
Darlow faces a tough task to break into Newcastle’s starting line-up, due to Elliott’s impressive form.

The Magpies have built their success around the strength of their backline this campaign, and it seems unlikely that Benitez will change goalkeepers out of choice.
Darlow could now be heading towards the exit at St. James’ Park, as Benitez still wants to bring in a new number one.
