The New York Knicks’ championship run had star power, resilience and, apparently, a little bit of luck from Jordyn Woods.
New York finally ended its long title wait after beating the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, with Jalen Brunson leading the way and Karl-Anthony Towns playing a huge role throughout the postseason.
But any championship run needs a few things to fall the right way. For Towns, one of those things came from his fiancée Woods, who turned one orange bag into an unlikely Knicks good-luck charm.

The story gathered steam during the Finals, with Woods’ orange bag named a Knicks lucky charm as fans leaned into the idea that New York could not lose when she brought it along.
Towns was asked about the bag during the Knicks’ appearance on Good Morning America, with Woods sitting in the audience and the now-famous accessory with her.
He was more than happy to give it credit.
“That bag is undoubtedly probably one of the greatest articles of clothing that New York has ever seen,” Towns said. “Yeah it’s had a run for sure. Undefeated in the playoffs.”
Towns then made sure Woods got her share of the praise.
“Yeah, Jordyn for sure got it done for us, so shoutout to her and what she’s been able to do with that bag,” Towns said. “New York has a lot to thank her for.”
Luck probably did play some part — it always does in a title run — but so did KAT’s dominant postseason run, delivering the kind of impact New York needed next to Brunson.
The bag will surely be back next season. The Knicks are now trying to become the first team since the Warriors to repeat as NBA champions, and nobody in New York will want Woods changing a thing.
