Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to Curtis Jones’ Twitter message after he returned to first-team training.
The 20-year-old posted several snaps from training on Twitter, including him going past goalkeeper Loris Karius to put the ball into the back of the net.
The Reds supporters were glad to see their boyhood fan return to action and they noticed Karius getting beating to the ball.
Whilst Karius is no longer in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team picture, he still has a contract at the club until the summer and he will be expected to leave thereafter.
Nonetheless, with Jones back in training, he boosts Jurgen Klopp’s midfield options during what is a very busy festive period.
After seeing past a tough and resilient Aston Villa on Saturday, it’s another home clash, this time against relegation-threatened Newcastle on Thursday.
Five more games are to be played in all competitions for the Merseyside club, before 2021 is up, and Jones will be hoping to get some minutes during that period.
Jones last featured in October when Liverpool recorded a 2-2 draw against Brighton at Anfield.
Those same three teams – Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea – are still slugging it out for the title.
The holders are currently sitting top of the tree, and even if Liverpool and Chelsea win tomorrow night, they will still be top heading into Christmas.
All helped by their statement win on Tuesday when they demolished Leeds United 7-0 on home soil.
