Yesterday, Patrick Berger reported that Karim Benzema was close to joining Al Hilal on a 1.5-year contract after talks progressed quickly.
The French forward was open to the move after contract extension negotiations with Al Ittihad collapsed, with the deal framed as a major internal Saudi Pro League transfer.
Those reports emerged late on February 1 and suggested the agreement was close to being finalised.

According to Berger, there are now no limitations on Benzema’s future, as the deal between Saudi Arabian giants seems to have collapsed.
