French striker Karim Benzema has acted quickly to dispel suggestions he is Manchester United bound.
Benzema had set tongues wagging by posting a photo onto his Instagram page at home with a Manchester United logo in the background, The Sun reported.
The striker used to work with incoming United boss Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, where he remains under contract.
Perhaps alerted to the reports sparked by a good spot by his eagle eyed followers, Benzema has posted another message to his Instagram page expressing his love for Real Madrid.
It read simply: ” karimbenzemaR.M. Forever⚽️”
This was likely designed to calm any hysteria among Real fans that he is plotting an exit, while it remains unclear if Jose Mourinho plans to try and bring him to United.
At Real he is a key part of the attack, and the La Liga giants have no need to sell the striker.
Benzema, 28, scored 24 goals in 27 games in the league last season, plus a further four in eight Champions League appearances.
