The Frenchman has unwittingly linked himself to West Ham United.

Karim Benzema has linked himself with a move to West Ham United…..by accident.

The Real Madrid hitman posted a photo of himself on Instagram, with the crossed-hammers emoji as the caption.

In football, it is considered the West Ham emoji, due to the club’s emblem.

The Hammers certainly need some firepower up front next season, but is this Benzema saying that he’s going to be a West Ham player soon? Of course not.

Diario Gol did report last April that the 31-year-old was a target for Hammers’ duo David Gold and David Sullivan, making a move to East London slightly more credible.

But nothing came of previous links and almost certainly nothing will come of this.

The former Lyon star, who earns £150,000 per week in the Spanish capital [Total Sportek], is contracted to the Blancos for another two years.

Even though he’s over 30, Benzema would still cost a lot of money and at this stage, West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini – who signed him for Real in 2009 – should focus on younger marksmen.
