Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka suggests he wants West Ham United defender Sam Byram and has known him since he was at Leeds United.

Byram started his professional club football career at Leeds and was quite successful during his time at Elland Road.
The 24-year-old right-back was one of the best players in his position in the Championship and moved to West Ham in January 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Independent to be worth £3.7 million.
Karanka was the manager of Middlesbrough from November 2013 until March 2017, and knows Byram from his time in the Championship.
The Forest manager has suggested that he wants to sign Byram, who can also operate as a winger, this summer.
Karanka told The Express: “Sam is one of them. He is a Premier League player and we need to work differently in different situations. I have known Sam since he played for Leeds.
“There are more players on the list, because we have to try to bring in the best option for us.”

Good signing for Nottingham Forest?
Byram has failed to make an impact at West Ham and will struggle for playing time this season.
It would make sense for the 24-year-old to move to Forest, where he will be able to establish himself in the first team.
The former Leeds right-back knows the Championship inside out, and promotion-chasing Forest would be a better team with the Englishman in it.
