Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea go head-to-head this weekend and two players in particular will be key.

This weekend Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea go head-to-head at Stamford Bridge in a huge Premier League encounter.

While a whole host of players could decide the final outcome, two in particular could play a defining role in the centre of the park, with the Blues’ N’Golo Kante coming up against Spurs star Victor Wanyama.

The latter has arguably been Tottenham’s best player of the season, proving exactly why manager Mauricio Pochettino was so desperate to reunite with the former Southampton man at White Hart Lane.

Kante has – as he did last season for champions Leicester City – quietly gone about his business doing the vital dirty work and allowing Chelsea’s attacking players to shine. But who has had the best campaign to date?

As you would expect from two such stars, it is a close call in many areas, with just two percent separating them when it comes to average passing accuracy in the Premier League, the Chelsea man winning with 90 per cent compared with 88 per cent for Wanyama.

The Tottenham summer signing does however come out on top when it comes to key passes, duels won and – by some margin – aerial battles won.

Kante is a diminutive figure so the latter is unsurprising, but Tottenham fans will be hoping Wanyama continues to dominate when it comes to duels as this could be a deciding factor when the two clash.

With more ball recoveries and more interceptions won per match, Kante has reasons to be pleased with his performances in comparison, but both will be geared up for one of the biggest matches of the season so far when Tottenham and Chelsea face off for a huge three points.
