Son Heung-min scored his 20th goal for Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday night.

The South Korea international has been a revelation since joining Tottenham back in 2015.

Apart from Harry Kane, no other player has positively influenced Spurs’ results more than the former Bayer Leverkusen attacker.

However, Kane was frustrating by his Lilywhites teammate yesterday.

That’s according to Lee Dixon, speaking live on NBC Sport during Tottenham’s visit to Liverpool.

At one point during the second half, a promising attack from Antonio Conte’s outfit came to nothing.

Son was trying to wriggle his way through the Reds’ rearguard but, over on his left, Kane had made an overlapping run which would’ve given him a sight at goal had his teammate passed.

And Dixon said he saw Son apologise to the Spurs hitman for his indecision.

Dixon said: “Son putting his hand up to Harry Kane saying ‘sorry I didn’t give it to you’. He had one thing on his mind there. Harry Kane wasn’t too happy.”

Fortunately for Son, he did atone for fluffing that Tottenham attack.

Minutes later, the 29-year-old tapped the North Londoners into a 1-0 lead after unselfish play from Ryan Sessegnon, in an attack which was largely orchestrated by Kane again.

Everybody knows Kane as a world-class goalscorer, but this season, and under Jose Mourinho, he has emphatically enhanced his reputation as a playmaker too.

Just look at Son’s goal tally in the Premier League as evidence of that.
