Jose Mourinho has said on talkSPORT (7:56am, July 9, 2021) that he thinks that Harry Kane will stay at Tottenham Hotspur.
Mourinho has said that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has no desire to sell Kane.
The former Spurs boss does not think that the England international striker will sign a new contract with the North London outfit.
Mourinho said on talkSPORT (7:56am, July 9, 2021): “Signing a new contract and staying? I don’t know.
“Staying… I would say that is what probably is going to happen. I don’t think Mr Levy has the desire to sell him.
“Harry was very objective, very clear and very direct when before the Euros he said he wanted to leave the club, but I don’t see Mr Levy being open to that.
“But it’s something only they will know what is going to happen after the Euros.”
Harry Kane speculation
Sky Sports reported in May that Kane has told Tottenham that he wants to leave this summer.
The 27-year-old striker wants to win trophies, and does not see that happening at Spurs.
Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all reportedly want to sign the star.
The striker himself told Gary Neville on The Overlap that he is open to leaving the club he has been at his entire professional club football career so far.
Uncertain future
Kane is one of the best strikers in the world, and Spurs chairman Levy will know that it is going to be hard to replace the 27-year-old.
The England international has a contract with Tottenham, and the North London club will not be forced into selling him.
Of course, Kane’s desire will play a big role.
There is no point in keeping a player at the club who wants to go, and Levy will have to bear that in mind.
