Sky Sports pundit Phil Neville explained why he believes that Spurs hitman Harry Kane is not quite on the same level as Gareth Bale just yet, when writing a column for Sky Sports.

The 24-year-old Tottenham forward has been in sensational form for Mauricio Pochettino’s side so far this season, scoring 11 goals in 10 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites.

Many fans and pundits alike now consider the England international to be one of the most dangerous frontmen in world football, but is he already in the ‘world-class’ category?

Sky Sports pundit Phil Neville delivered his verdict on the debate, sharing why he feels Kane cannot yet be considered in the same bracket as Real Madrid superstar Bale, when writing a column for Sky Sports:

“It’s a stage that Harry Kane believes, and probably Dele Alli believes, he wants to be playing on. Kane is playing on the biggest stage against Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, two of the best central defenders in world football, and it will be a test to see whether he can perform at that level. I think Kane has answered every question that has been levelled at him so far and this is just another question he has got to answer. Is he now at a higher level that Gareth Bale? I don’t think so because Bale has won the Champions League and other titles.”

The Tottenham striker will certainly have the opportunity to prove his worth at the Bernabeu tonight, facing some of Europe’s best players including Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos, Sergio Ramos and Bale himself.

And a match-winning performance from Kane tonight will only serve to enhance his reputation even further still.

The problem for Spurs is that he will then be even more on Madrid’s radar, with the Spanish giants already keen on bringing him to the club in the summer.
