Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane has told Sky Sports, during their live Nation’s League coverage, that he loves playing with Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.
Grealish and Kane have only linked up with each other a few times on international duty so far, but they are already showings signs of a promising partnership.
The Tottenham and Villa stars were England’s two best players last night, despite the Three Lions’ defeat against Belgium.
And Kane says that he has been very impressed with Grealish in training and on the pitch so far.
“He’s a fantastic player, I really like him. I really like training with him,” Kane said.
“It was great to be out on the pitch with him. You can see his qualities on the ball, wants to get o it, he’s not afraid 1 v 1, he’s always looking for a pass forward, which is great for a striker.
“It’s really positive signs, he’s been in great form for his club as well, and he’s just got to keep working hard and keep his head down and he will get plenty of opportunities in an England shirt.”
Grealish has had to really fight for his place in England’s squad, but seems to be showing Gareth Southgate why he needs to be included now.
The Villa man was the Three Lions’ best source of creativity last night, and with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford still to return to England’s attack, Southgate could have some really dangerous offensive options soon.
Grealish and Kane are set to link up again for England on Wednesday, when the Three Lions take on Iceland.
