Tottenham Hotspur supporters probably thought they were over the whole Harry Kane saga, following Antonio Conte’s arrival in November.

However, that could be a premature assessment.

The Lilywhites were dumped out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, meaning that the 28-year-old is guaranteed to once again go another season without winning a trophy in North London.

And according to The Evening Standard, the odds of Kane quitting Tottenham this summer are only 50-50.

The report by Dan Kilpatrick has added that Kane told his friends that winning the FA Cup this season could lay the foundations for further success under legendary Italian manager Antonio Conte, prior to their elimination obviously.

He wrote: “Kane is understood to have told friends that winning the competition could pave the way for the club to lift further trophies with Antonio Conte, under whom he loves playing. Kane’s decision could ultimately hinge on Conte’s own future and whether the head coach is sufficiently backed to overhaul the squad, but last night’s result was a blow to Spurs’ hopes of avoiding another protracted summer of unrest and speculation.”

Is Kane leaving Spurs?

The England international certainly did cut a frustrated figure at the Riverside last night and after coming so close to joining Manchester City last summer, the red-hot hitman, who turns 29 in July, might well be tempted to call it a day this time around.

Kane has made no secret about his desire to lift trophies before his career is over and even with a manager like Conte on board, it’s looking increasingly unlikely that he ever will in North London.

Even if City fail to win the Premier League this season – and they’re still favourites – Kane will still feel a little uncomfortable.

If Pep Guardiola’s do go all the way, he might feel as if he missed out on glory at the Etihad – and if Liverpool win the title, the Tottenham star might feel as if he would’ve been the difference.
