Richard Keys has claimed on Twitter that a controversial Tottenham Hotspur incident involving Harry Kane today cost Arsenal a place in Europe.

Tottenham have finished seventh in the Premier League table this season with 62 points from 38 matches.

Spurs’ bitter North London rivals Arsenal ended up eighth in the standings with 61 points from 38 games.

Leicester City suffered a similar heartbreak as last season, as the Foxes finished fifth with 66 points, a point behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

This means that Leicester (and West Ham United) will play in the Europa League next season.

Tottenham have qualified for the Europa Conference League playoff round.

As for Arsenal, they will not play in Europe at all next season.

On the final day of the league season today, Arsenal beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium in North London.

Meanwhile, Leicester went down 4-2 to Tottenham at the King Power Stadium.

In the build-up to the third Spurs goal, it did appear that Kane had handled the ball, but after a VAR check, the goal stood.

Former Sky Sports presenter Keys, now at beIN SPORTS, believes that it was handball.

Keys has said that it cost Arsenal a place in Europe and perhaps Leicester a spot in the Champions League.
