Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has piled praise onto teammate Christian Eriksen.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane explained to Drive Time on talkSPORT what he feels Christian Eriksen gives to Tottenham and what the pair have in common.

Kane has scored 24 goals across all competitions for Tottenham this season, but Eriksen has been one of his teammates who has also played a key role at important times for the club.

“He’s a world class player, you can see that. It’s not just the goals he scores and sets up, his all round game is brilliant and he works very hard on the training pitch,” said Kane.

“I get on very well with him on and off the pitch – I think you’ve seen this season that we connect very well and both like to use our brains on the pitch and play with a certain style.”

Eriksen has the intelligence to be able to predict the runs Kane makes in Tottenham’s attack, which means he’s well placed to thread passes through a defence and position himself accordingly.

The Dane has also proven to be lethal from set pieces, with his free kick in the League Cup semi-final second leg against Sheffield United a perfect example of what he’s capable of.

The pair are vital to any chances of Tottenham having success this season, which starts with the League Cup final against Chelsea this weekend.

The main aim for Tottenham this season is going to be the Champions League and ensuring they qualify for the competition, but if they win the League Cup, it should inspire both Kane and Eriksen to maintain their form over the rest of the season.
