After a resounding 4-0 win over Stoke City in the Premier League, Spurs look to be firing on all fronts.
Tottenham’s Dele Alli celebrates scoring their third goal
Tottenham Hotspur beat Stoke City 4-0 at the Britannia Stadium in the Premier League thanks to two goals from Son Heung-Min, and goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
It was an impressive performance by Mauricio Pochettino’s side and brings to an end Kane’s nine-game goal drought, taking his tally to 50 goals in 87 Premier League appearances.
Stoke offered only limited resistance to a Spurs side that now looks like they are firing on all fronts, and showed strength in depth, with Son grabbing two of their four goals.
Spurs slowly asserted themselves on the hosts and the game was put beyond them thanks to two goals in three minutes in the early part of the second half.
We take a look at the five things we learned from Stoke v Spurs:
1. Kane and Alli are scoring again
With Kane’s goal drought now over, and Alli looking to be getting back to the form he showed last season, the two players appear to have their swagger back and Spurs looked all the better for it.
In the end it was a dominant display against a Stoke side that looked like the were struggling with the movement from not just Kane and Alli but the rest of the midfield.
But it may be Kane ending his nine-game goal drought that will have brought the most joy to Spurs supporters.

2. Strength in depth
In starting Son, Pochettino showed just how much depth in midfield the Argentine currently has at his disposal.
Pochettino could afford to leave both Erick Lamela and new signing Moussa Sissoko on the bench, showing just what level of talent he currently has in abundance at White Hart Lane.
The fact that both came on in the second half is proof of the rotation he can use throughout the season.
3. Son proved his place
In the summer it looked to many that Son could end up leaving but against Stoke, Pochettino showed why he kept the South Korean, and that faith was repaid.
The midfielder scored two superb solo goals and showed that the Spurs manager was right to start him.

4. Stoke looked lost at times
At times throughout the match Stoke looked lost and devoid of ideas.
While Hughes’ side started the match well enough they allowed Spurs more and more in to the game, and ultimately could do nothing as the away side asserted themselves on the game, before breaking the deadlock on 41 minutes.
From there Stoke could do little to contain the Spurs midfield as they ran away with the match.
5. Is this the start of a title challenge?
Spurs look like they are hitting the kind of form that went on throughout last season, and will be hoping this is a start of things to come.
it was a resounding win over a Stoke side that offered little in an attacking threat, and the signs are there that Spurs could go better than the third place finish they managed last season.
