Tottenham Hotspur stars including Harry Kane have responded on social media to the club’s Champions League draw.

The North Londoners were handed what could be considered an encouraging group having avoided the European giants in the first two pots, drawing Russian champions CSKA Moscow from pot one and last season’s third placed German side Bayer Leverkusen from pot two.

Things got more interesting with the addition of Monaco, who finished finished third in Ligue 1, from the final pot, arguably one of the tougher picks from that group of teams, and a side Mauricio Pochettino’s side came up against last year in the Europa League – where they drew 1-1 away and triumphed 4-1 at home.

Arguably, Tottenham may be seen as the favourite for the group, with home games set to take place at Wembley this season.

Unsurprisingly, a number of Spurs players reacted to the draw, with none of the current squad playing Champions League minutes the last time the club made the group stages in 2010-11.

Tottenham favourite Harry Kane was one of the first to give his opinion:

Defender Toby Alderweireld also proved that he was a very interested spectator, tweeting a picture of his television displaying the group.

And Jan Vertonghen and Victor Wanyama had both hinted of their excitement ahead of the draw.
