Premier League Southampton reportedly want Bordeaux’s Francois Kamano and Birmingham City’s Che Adams after signing Moussa Djenepo.

Southampton are interested in signing Bordeaux forward Francois Kamano this summer, according to Tuttomercatoweb – and just imagine how scary Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side would be if they added him to a new-look strikeforce containing Che Adams and Moussa Djenepo.

The 2018/19 campaign was a disappointing one for The Saints. A club who frequently challenged the top seven during the days of Ronald Koeman and Mauricio Pochettino have declined dramatically in recent years and their lack of a natural goalscorer is certainly one of the main reasons.

Southampton only managed 45 goals in 38 Premier League games last season.

But could Kamano, a versatile forward who hit the target 13 times for Bordeaux last season, make a difference?

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Southampton have contacted Kamano’s agent as they look to step up their interest in a player who was first linked with an £18 million move to St Mary’s earlier this year (via Noticias de Gipuzkoa).

Francois Kamano of Bordeaux scores a goal during the Europa League play off second leg between Grondins de Bordeaux and KAA Gent on August 30, 2018 in Bordeaux, France.

The South Coast club have already spent £14 million on Mali international Djenepo this month, as reported by The Sun. And the prospect of Djenepo flying down the flanks alongside Kamano should get fans hopeful that excitement is on its way back to Southampton.

Just imagine if they sign the similarly jet-heeled Adams too. Sky claims that they had had a £14 million bid rejected but Birmingham City will likely accept £16 million for their 22-goal top scorer.

Adams, Kamano and Djenepo, who could cost around £50 million combined, would create a formidable front three which would have defenders everywhere quaking in their boots.
